MARATHON PIECE GUIDELINES
1. A single work by a composer not exceeding 10 minutes. (E.g. Chopin Nocturne)
2. A complete set by the same composer not exceeding 10 minutes. (E.g. Three Gershwin Preludes)
3. A movement from a sonata that is not longer than 10 minutes.
4. A medley or a combination of short works by different composers is not allowed.
5. If you’re listing a movement from a sonata or a suite, we’ll determine whether it’s suitable.
6. Some flexibility in timing is allowed for advanced pieces that are a slightly over 10 minutes. (E.g. Chopin Ballades, Scherzos, Polonaises, etc.)
7. Each performer will perform one piece on stage. Should there be more time left in the program, performers may be able to perform a second piece.
